I Got One!

It's time for another Friday Sketch Reveal over at the My Scraps & More Sketches Blog. I had fun with this sketch.  This is my granddaughter catching her first fish. I love how she's holding the fish so far away from her. I can just hear her saying don't let it touch me....it's gross!

Here's the sketch we had to play with:

This layout also fits a Throwback Thursday challenge on the My Scraps & More website. You had to use 3 different patterned papers and 1 embellishment at least 1 year old. All my fish and bubble embellies are probably about 5 years old. I cut the title out on my Cricut using the Life is a Beach cartridge and the tag with hidden journaling was embossed then inked with white and brown inks.

Two in a Row

I can't believe I've done two layouts in a row! That's big for me! Anyway.....I was looking for a sketch today and found one I fell in love with at Sketch N Scrap. I copied it exactly except for the title and journaling strips. I really love how it came out.

This is the sketch I followed

It also fit a couple of other challenges. One for the Turtle Soup May Mini Crop Thankful challenge and for the My Scraps & More 5/12 Monday Mix It Up challenge.

Thanks for stopping by!

Sunshine and Happiness

This photo was taken by a dear friend of mine. She and her husband go hiking out in Colorado and she takes the most beautiful photos! I've wanted to scrap this for a while now and finally got around to it.

This also fits two different challenges. One is for Turtle Soup's May Mini Crop Fun and Bright Layout Challenge. Come check out our Mini Crop....lots of fun challenges going on!
The other is for a Tuesday Trigger Challenge over at My Scraps & More, where you had to scrap something that grows other than humans.

Hope everyone had a scrappy good weekend!

My Little Pony

It's that time of year again! My oldest granddaughter's birthday is the end of this month. I can't believe she's going to be 7 years old! And it's also hard to believe what she wants for her birthday....an Amazon gift card so she can download more apps on her own Kindle. It makes gift giving easy but I miss going to the toy store and picking out something special for her. At least I can make a special birthday card for her. Right now, besides her Kindle, she's into My Little Pony so here's the card I came up with.

I couldn't believe I found My Little Pony paper at Michaels. I found the two images on-line, printed them  and fussy cut them out. I know she'll like this card but she'll love the gift card even more!

Kindergarten Grads

It's Friday so that means we have another sketch to reveal at My Scraps & More Sketches

Here's this weeks sketch:

When I first saw this sketch I immediately knew I would be using ribbon for the vertical strips. I decided to try scrunching the ribbon using double sided tape instead of running a basting stitch through it. I really like how it turned out. The one on the left is just a string of teeny tiny pink beads that took me forever to string together.

If you like sketches, and who doesn't, please come join us at My Scraps & More Sketches!
Hope to see you there!

Mother's Day Card

I've got an Inspiration Challenge up today at Turtle Soup. I decided to use a list of words for inspiration for this challenge. There are six different words and I used three of them for this card.

All the patterned paper is from Simple Stories Vintage Bliss collection. I used an Anna Griffin embossing folder for the pale green background and the butterfly is from Recollections that's been in my stash for several years. Now I just have to decide if I should give this to my mom or my stepdaughter. Decisions, decisions!

National Scrapbook Day

We're having a National Scrapbook Day Mini Crop over at Turtle Soup. There are lots of fun challenges, games and prizes! The crop is from May 2nd through May 11th so you'll have lots of time to complete all the challenges.

My challenge for the mini crop is an inspirational one. With summer coming I chose a nice relaxing beach scene to use as inspiration. You can pull so many ideas from this photo like color, beach or vacation photos, water related activities or just plain old relaxation.

I decided to go with a water and vacation theme. This photo was taken on my honeymoon in Hawaii. We were at Hawaii Volcanoes National Park and saw this arch that was formed by lava. What an amazing and very interesting park to visit!

For this layout I decided to try and make the background look like water. I sprayed two different colors of mist and some water on a mat and then just placed the cardstock on top and kind of mushed it around. I let it dry and then added some dots using a mask and some modeling paste. All the papers on here are from my scrap pile.....yay, I love using up my scraps!

So come join us for all the NSD festivities over at Turtle Soup! Be sure and bring a friend for an extra entry in the prize drawing. Hope to see you there!

Be You

I've got a scraplift challenge up today at Turtle Soup. I picked a layout from the Turtle Soup gallery which can be seen here. I really liked the criss-crossed ribbon with the embellishment cluster along with the banners on the top and side of the page.

This is a photo of my granddaughter from last summer. She was only 6 years old but she looks so much older in this photo. Hard to believe she'll be 7 in just a few weeks!
